Peas are a high quality, easily digestible source of protein. This is obtained by extracting protein, removing the pea shell and then grinding the peas. Two tablespoons of pea protein contain 120 calories and about 27 grams of protein. It is rich in iron, arginine and amino acids. It is low in sugar, supports muscle tissue and growth and is considered satiated.
Pea protein is easy to digest. The reason for this is that it does not contain lactose or gluten, which can be difficult for the body to digest, especially if you are intolerant to gluten or lactose.
